My blog is basically about contamination in lakes and its impact on humans as on the environment.
I hope you enjoy it.
Actually humans are the principal source of contamination of
Lakes.
They do this by the following:
- Throwing rubbish to the lake or surroundings
- Spilling chimicals and other substances into it
- Air pollution/CO2/Wastes
- Fishing on the lake
- Hunting on the sorroundings
Impacts:
Contamination affects both Humans and the Environment in differente ways.
- Can get sick because of diseases
- Will breath polluted oxygen
- The lake visits might be cancelled
Environment:
- Destroys animals´ habitat
- Species dying (later extinct)
- Lake will get infected as surroundings
Interesting Facts:
- In America, 40% of the rivers and 46% of the lakes are polluted and are considered unhealthy for swimming, fishing or aquatic life.
- Over 30 billion tons of urban sewage discharged into lakes, rivers and oceans each year.
- Plastic waste being a major water pollutant, is causing huge destruction of marine life and is believed to be responsible for deaths of more than 100,000 sea mammals, sea birds and various types of fishes.
- Fresh water in the world is only 2.5% of the total water available on this planet.
- Over 2,000 animals like birds, turtles, and mammals have been reported dead and many of them were on the endangered species list after years of contamination in the sea.
How can you help?
Don’t throw
litter, chemicals or any toxic substances into rivers, lakes or oceans. Help
clean up any litter you see on beaches or in rivers and lakes, make sure it is
safe to collect the litter and put it in a nearby dustbin.
Pass on the idea, you can make the difference!
"Contamination in Lakes is bad for both humans and the environment; therefore it is very important to care about it and avoid the consequences for a healthy world."
